Rewriting the EU-UK Relationship
The 2016 Brexit vote shocked the world when the UK narrowly decided to leave the European Union, splitting a 47 year partnership. 24 Years on, the world has changed. It has witnessed conflict on the continent and around the world, *redacted*, a global pandemic, *redacted*, geopolitical realignment and *redacted*.
Now a changed United Kingdom, and an evolving European Union, must decide which path they must take that will define global politics for the coming decades.
The European Union in 2040 represents a variegated group of 30 nations, it is a political and economic alliance aiming to promote peace, its values and the well-being of its citizens. It is the 3rd largest economy in the world and has broad social and economic links to across the globe, developing its own currency, its own advanced legal system and a patchwork of societies.
Delegates are Members of the European Parliament (MEP), they are part of a political group in the EP, MEPs are elected based on a member states party makeup, and therefore they are representing a group, a party and a country.
A decision must be reached in 1 day whether the European Union chooses to let the United Kingdom join a union it once turned its back on.
