About
Embodying integrity and purpose in diplomacy.
Aspiring Delegates,
Welcome everybody to VIYSMUN2025, a very immersive and engaging Model United Nations conference, where you wear garb that personifies and embodies authenticity. You are acting as actualized diplomats at the pillars of integrity, purpose, and diplomacy. This aggregate brings together young leaders, the passionate agents of change, and the imminent global citizens from diverse points in the world to create thought-provoking and meaningfully productive dialogue in order to catalyze solutions toward critical issues at large around the world.
Over three days, delegates assume the roles of assigned nations as they draft resolutions and bargain policies concerning very complex crises in which the consensus will be sought. In that respect, participants will focus on the most urgent global concerns such as sustainability, peace, human rights, and economic equality. Dictated by the set principles of the United Nations, there is an urgent need to maintain integrity in its speech, meaning in its resolutions, and in practicing diplomacy through all its words and actions.
We are excited to welcome an honored guest speaker, a very accomplished lecturer on democracy who works directly with the United Nations. The speaker will share insights and views related to global governance. He will also lead a discussion on the need for youth inclusion in democratic reforms, which he believes will greatly help all our delegates understand the matters from a wider perspective.
VIYSMUN2025 will develop the communication, critical thinking, and global leadership skills of the delegates by running specific workshops, interaction panels, and real-life simulations when it holds them. We welcome applications from the present time so that each one can form online bonds with like-minded people focused on changing societies, great relationships, and building an honest, balanced world of diplomacy.
Whether you are one of the old-timers or a MUN newbie, VIYSMUN2025 will surely bring along a rich, challenging and memorable experience.
Best of luck, delegates!
The Secretariat.

United Nations Security Council
20 seats · Expert · EnglishIntroduction to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC): The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is tasked with maintaining international peace and security. Established in 1945, the UNSC has the authority to take action on a wide range of issues, from conflict resolution to sanctions and peacekeeping operations. It plays a pivotal role in addressing threats to global stability, often responding to crises through collective decision-making. The council operates under the principles outlined in the UN Charter, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among member states to prevent and resolve conflicts while promoting human rights and fundamental freedoms. Agendas: 1. Analyzing the Risks of Nuclear Escalation in the Israel-Palestine Conflict and Its Impact on Middle Eastern Stability and International Security:** As tensions escalate in the Middle East, the prospect of nuclear escalation within the Israel-Palestine conflict poses significant risks to regional and global stability. The UNSC must navigate the complexities of preventing further escalation while addressing the underlying political and security challenges. Delegates will explore the potential consequences of nuclear weapons falling into conflict zones and the importance of diplomatic engagement in mitigating threats. Discussions will focus on proactive measures to enhance regional security, support disarmament initiatives, and ensure the effectiveness of international oversight in volatile environments. 2. Addressing Double Standards in Nuclear Accountability Between Major Powers and Developing Nations: The perception of inequity in nuclear accountability frameworks, such as the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), raises critical questions about the fairness of global nuclear governance. Developing nations often contend that major powers maintain their arsenals while restricting others, undermining the UNSC's credibility and mission. Delegates will assess how the UNSC can facilitate a more equitable approach to nuclear governance, fostering dialogue and transparency among member states. The discussion will focus on potential reforms to existing frameworks, aiming to enhance trust and cooperation in global nuclear security efforts. In this session, delegates will work within the UNSC's mandate to tackle pressing issues of international security, accountability, and equity. By delving into these agendas, the council aims to uphold its commitment to fostering peace and stability while encouraging innovative solutions that respect the diverse interests of member states.kohan gunawan, Sunderjit Singh and Yahia DarwishUNGA - DISEC
