A safe space for stories, solidarity, and strength.

+++ This is NOT A MUN CONFERENCE but an ONLINE EXCHANGE SPACE for women and other gender minorities in MUN. +++

Have you ever felt talked over, underestimated, or out of place in a Model United Nations setting?  Welcome to UNmuted: A safe space for stories, solidarity, and strength – a safe space to speak, share, and shape the future together!

Model United Nations (MUN) is an arena for global dialogue and diplomacy — but even within these platforms, women and other gender minorities often encounter gender-based challenges, biases, or doubts. Therefore, the Aurel Steinert Foundation invites you to UNmuted - a dedicated and warm exchange forum designed to foster a safe, supportive environment where you can openly share your experiences, discuss the impact of discrimination or gender-related insecurities, and uplift one another.

This is not a formal debate, but a space for conversation. We would like to invite you to share your experiences to explore themes such as gender-based challenges, biases, and microaggressions in MUN, Imposter Syndrome, confidence, leadership, or what you need to feel confident, seen, and heard in these spaces.

Who can attend? women and other gender minorities participating in MUN at any level (from first-timers to seasoned delegates, chairs, or organizers)

When? July 2nd, 6-7 pm CET

Where? online (you will receive the meeting link after your registration)

By whom? Facilitated by the Aurel Steinert Foundation, Nathalie Urrutia – Head of Logistics for World Debate Consulting – will moderate and lead through the exchange forum.

What to expect? A laidback conversation aiming to share experiences that in some way, shape or made an impact in our MUN involvement as females. No pressures, no formalities, but a talk between us!

Why join?

  • Share Freely – Speak your truth without judgment.
  • Build Community – Connect with other like-minded people and feel less alone with your experiences.
  • Gain Insight – Learn how others have coped, resisted, and thrived in the face of bias. Exchange strategies and perspectives.
  • Inspire Change – Your story matters. This event is one of the starting points to make MUN more inclusive and aware.

Whether you want to share your story or just listen, your presence matters. Interested? Fill out your application now!
