Deliberation Upon The Issue of Mass Weaponisation in The Balkans

About the committee

The mass weaponization in the Balkans remains a pressing concern for international peace and regional stability. As decades-old tensions continue to simmer, the unchecked proliferation of weapons poses a serious threat to civilian safety, national sovereignty, and diplomatic progress. In this session of the UNGA DISEC at TUI MUN, delegates are called upon to critically assess the root causes and modern implications of militarization in the region. From illicit arms trafficking to the stockpiling of advanced weaponry, the discussion will seek viable, multilateral solutions to prevent further escalation. Through collaborative dialogue and responsible policymaking, we aim to ensure that the Balkans do not relapse into violence, but instead progress toward sustainable disarmament and lasting peace under international oversight.
