About the committee

The Arab League is a regional organization comprising 22 member states from the Middle East and North Africa, established in 1945 to promote unity, cooperation, and coordination across the Arab world. It serves as a platform for discussing shared challenges, defending Arab interests, and fostering political, economic, and cultural collaboration. In the Arab League Committee at MUN, delegates represent member states to debate key regional issues such as economic development, climate resilience, youth empowerment, and most notably, the question of Palestine — a core issue that has long shaped the Arab League’s agenda and identity. The League has historically played a central role in supporting the Palestinian people and advocating for a just and lasting resolution to the conflict. While resolutions passed in this committee are non-binding, they represent the collective voice of the Arab region and carry significant symbolic and diplomatic influence. The committee values mutual respect, cultural awareness, and a deep understanding of the political and historical context that unites — and sometimes divides — its members. This committee challenges delegates to engage in meaningful, context-specific diplomacy where cooperation, compromise, and regional solidarity are key.
