WAMUN — Second Edition World Affairs Model United Nations

19–20 September 2026

VAMUN — World Affairs Model United Nations — returns for its Second Edition on 19–20 September, bringing together young diplomats to engage with pressing international issues through research, debate, negotiation, and collaboration. VAMUN provides delegates with an opportunity to represent nations, understand different perspectives, develop diplomatic skills, and work toward practical solutions to complex global challenges.

Committees & Agendas

☢️ DISEC — Disarmament and International Security Committee

Agenda: “Deliberating on Preventing the Accidental or Unintended Use of Nuclear Weapons.”
DISEC will focus on reducing the possibility of nuclear weapons being used through miscalculation, misunderstanding, or unintended escalation. Delegates will explore international cooperation, crisis communication, risk-reduction measures, and approaches to strengthening global nuclear security.

🛡️ UNSC — United Nations Security Council

Agenda: “Deliberating on Preventing Nuclear Escalation and the Outbreak of Nuclear Warfare.”
The UNSC will examine the dangers of nuclear escalation and the potential consequences of tensions between states developing into a wider nuclear conflict. Delegates will debate diplomatic measures, crisis management, international cooperation, and the role of collective action in maintaining international peace and security.

Each committee will have four individual awards, giving delegates in both DISEC and UNSC an equal opportunity to be recognized:

• 📜 Best Position Paper — 1 per committee
