PGLMUN 2027; Diplomacy Decolonised
Welcome to PGLMUN
After last year's succcess, PGLMUN is coming back for a second edition!
Founded in 1812, the first Gymnasium of Cyprus is opening its doors once more to host PGLMUN 2027. Delegates are offered the opportunity to debate in the heart of Nicosia's old town; the last divided capital in Europe.
Strongly bound to the history of the island and the conference's location, this year's conference vision is encapsulated in the phrase ‘Diplomacy Decolonised’. This vision will be thoroughly explored via multiple avenues including the topic configuration, guest speaker selection and chairing guidance. The Secretariat aims to facilitate and culture a conversation on colonial reminants, intact neocolonialism and decolonisation processes, ultimately reflecting on a vital question; can the international community meaningfully address colonial reminants and neocolonial realities using diplomatic platforms?
Conference details
As mentioned above, the conference will take place at the Pancyprian Gymnasium amphetheatre and classrooms. The conference begins in the afternoon of the 15th, resumes in the morning of the 16th and ends in the afternoon of the 17th of January 2027. A precise timeframe will be included in the delegate handbook. An official's in-person workshop will take place on the 14th of November 2026 at the campus.
