NMUN • Canada
Imagine yourself in the striking mountain landscapes of Banff National Park. You're surrounded by majestic mountains, thick pine forests, pristine lakes, and abundant wildlife. Breathe in the fresh air and contemplate the snow covered landscape. But you're not here for vacation. You're here to participate in NMUN • Canada, a once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunity for college and university students from all over the world. Our simulation of the United Nations will address pressing global environmental and indigenous issues. You'll learn about the challenges facing humanity and develop the skills you need to make a difference. At the conference we will strive to adhere to the four Cultural Experiences/Engagement Principles.
Outside of committee sessions:
- Explore Banff National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Don ice cleats and hike Johnston Canyon. Will you hit the snow covered trail hard and make it to frozen waterfalls or opt for a leisurely stroll along the creek that runs through the limestone cliffs surrounding the canyon?
- Participate in an interactive blanket experience for an intimate encounter with the impact of Canada's colonization on the indigenous population.
- Get a bird's eye view of the Banff area on a gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain. Hike the boardwalk trail and keep a lookout for bighorn sheep.
- Shop at the unique shops or eat at the quaint restaurants in downtown Banff.
NMUN • Canada is an experience you'll never forget. It's a chance to learn about global environmental issues, develop your leadership skills, and make new friends from all over the world. We are grateful to MacEwan University for partnering with us to make this conference possible.
