Where Ideas Clash and Global Voices Rise.

Nihon Global Debate Competition Series (NGDCS) – 3rd Edition

After the remarkable success of the first and second Nihon Global Model United Nations conferences, which brought together passionate students from diverse backgrounds, we are proud to introduce the 3rd edition of NGMUN β€” the Nihon Global Debate Competition Series (NGDCS).

This edition focuses on competitive debating, critical thinking, and public speaking excellence, designed to challenge students intellectually while giving them a platform to develop confidence and global awareness.

NGDCS will provide participants with a structured and exciting debate environment where they will compete, collaborate, and sharpen their analytical abilities through multiple competitive rounds.

Competition Structure

The debate competition will follow a tournament format:

Round Structure:

  1. Participants will first be divided into groups
  2. Each group will compete in preliminary debate rounds
  3. Debaters will be evaluated based on:
  • Argument strength
  • Logical reasoning
  • Rebuttal ability
  • Delivery and confidence
  • Team coordination (if team debates)

Based on scores:

  1. The top performers from each group will advance to the next stage
  2. Semi-final rounds will further narrow competitors
  3. The best debaters will advance to the Final Round

Final Round

The final round will feature the top finalists competing for championship positions.

At the conclusion of the competition:

πŸ₯‡ 1st Place – Best Debater Award

πŸ₯ˆ 2nd Place – Excellence in Debate Award

πŸ₯‰ 3rd Place – Distinction in Debate Award

Participation Benefits

NGDCS is not just a competition, it is a learning experience.

Every participant will receive:

β€’ Official Certificate of Participation

β€’ Opportunity to compete in a global style debate environment

β€’ Experience valuable for university applications

β€’ Skill development in:

  • Public speaking
  • Critical thinking
  • Argumentation
  • Confidence building

Registration Fee

To maintain high organizational quality and provide certificates, logistics, and judging resources, NGDCS will have a small registration fee.

However:

β€’ The fee is intentionally kept very affordable

β€’ Participants receive certification and competitive experience

β€’ The value of the experience significantly exceeds the cost

β€’ Compared to similar competitions, NGDCS remains highly accessible

Most importantly, this competition builds skills that last far beyond the event itself.

Why NGDCS?

Because this is not our first event.

NGDCS is organized by the same team behind two successful NGMUN conferences, meaning:

β€’ Proven organizing experience

β€’ Structured event management

β€’ Reliable certification

β€’ Strong academic environment

Participants can register with confidence knowing they are joining a tested and trusted platform.

If you want to become a stronger speaker, sharper thinker, and more confident leader, NGDCS is where you start.
