MWTO 2024

GENERAL

The Model WTO is the biggest simulation of the World Trade Organization negotiations in the World. Our international conference provides a unique opportunity for future decision makers to experience first hand the technicalities of the multilateral trading system. Every year since 1997, 72 international students from around the world and different educational backgrounds have been invited to Switzerland every year to debate and exchange on the most relevant topics related to international Trade. Furthermore, all participants will have the chance to visit the diplomatic missions and the WTO headquarters as well as the possibility to network with like-minded students, prominent WTO officials, experts, and diplomats. The 27th Model WTO edition 2024 will take place from 20th to 27th of March in St. Gallen and Geneva. 

PARTICIPATION FEE

Please note that the participation fee covers your expenses during the conference, such as accommodation, food and transport between St. Gallen and Geneva. However, it does not cover other expenses such as visa costs or the cost of your travel to Switzerland.

APPLICATION

Applicants will need to submit their CV and answer questions regarding their motivation.

FINANCIAL AID 

-- ALL PLACES FOR SCHOLARSHIPS HAVE ALREADY BEEN ALLOCATED. THERFORE, WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT REGULAR APPLICATIONS -- 

Students can apply for financial aid if needed. Financial aid will be granted only to students that specifically apply for it. In order to apply for financial aid, you must describe your personal situation in an essay. You still have to hand in your answers to the motivational questions and regular essay. 

The financial aid only includes the payment of the participation fee. The flight and other expenses are borne by the participants. Please take this into account when planning your participation. In our decision, we will look at your personal situation, motivation letter and essay. 

Financial aid will be given to 4 of the 72 participants. Applicants for financial aid will be in a different pot from those applying regularly. If you apply for financial aid, you cannot apply for the Model WTO regularly, which means you cannot participate if you are not selected to receive financial aid.
