About

Lilac MUN is a youth-led, non-profit initiative dedicated to inspiring young people to explore international relations, law, diplomacy, and global problem-solving in a 100% virtual, inclusive, and accessible space.

Founded by Lakshya, a 14-year-old passionate about global affairs, Lilac MUN creates opportunities for students worldwide to learn, lead, and engage in meaningful discussions that shape the future.

We host Model United Nations conferences, debate olympiads, training sessions, and interactive workshops, equipping youth with leadership, research, and public speaking skills to thrive as future changemakers.

    About the committee

    UN Women, officially known as the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, was established in 2010 to consolidate the UN’s work on promoting women’s rights worldwide. Headquartered in New York, it supports member states in setting global standards for gender equality, assists in designing and implementing policies and programs, and coordinates UN system-wide efforts to ensure women’s full participation in political, economic, and s Social life. Its core areas include ending violence against women, advancing economic empowerment, increasing leadership and political participation, promoting women’s role in peace and security, and safeguarding rights in humanitarian settings. The current Executive Director is Sima Bahous of Jordan.
