Leaving Our marks!

Hello Everyone!

NIMUN 4th Junior Conference is right around the corner!
We’re excited to open delegate applications for this year’s councils.

In this form, you’ll find all the information you need about each council.
Please select your 1st and 2nd preferences based on where you believe you’ll perform best.

Our conference will take place in June 2026.

Beginner Councils :

📰 Press Committee

The Press Committee serves as the voice and lens of NIMUN. It is responsible for documenting and covering every session, debate, and crisis through timely reporting, interviews, social media coverage, and creative storytelling. Members of Press act as journalists, capturing the conference from multiple perspectives while ensuring accuracy and professionalism. Press is the committee that highlights the importance of diplomacy and captures the atmosphere of NIMUN for all delegates.

🕊️ United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is a United Nations agency responsible for protecting and supporting people who are forced to flee their homes due to conflict, persecution, or disasters. The committee focuses on providing life-saving aid such as shelter, food, clean water, and medical care, while ensuring refugees’ rights are respected under international law. Delegates will work on finding long-term solutions such as voluntary return, integration into host communities, and resettlement in third countries.

Intermediate Councils :

🛡️ United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is a global leader in the fight against illicit drugs, transnational organized crime, terrorism, and corruption. The committee assists Member States through legislation, capacity-building, research, and international cooperation. Delegates will debate ways to prevent organized crime across borders while promoting security, justice, and public health.

⚓ International Maritime Organization (IMO)

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is responsible for regulating global shipping to ensure safety, security, and environmental protection. It sets international standards for ship design, construction, and operation, aiming to prevent accidents, reduce marine pollution, and promote efficient and sustainable maritime transport. Delegates will explore global maritime challenges and work toward cooperative solutions for safer and more sustainable shipping.

Advanced Councils :

🕊️ United Nations Security Council (UNSC)

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is responsible for maintaining international peace and security. It focuses on urgent global issues such as conflicts, wars, and threats to stability, and has the authority to impose sanctions, authorize peacekeeping missions, and take action to restore peace. Delegates will engage in high-level diplomacy to address international crises and protect global security.

⚡ Crisis Committee

The Crisis Committee is a specialized Model United Nations simulation where delegates respond to a rapidly evolving emergency in real time. Unlike traditional committees with fixed topics, the Crisis Committee is fully dynamic, with new intelligence, unexpected developments, and shifting alliances throughout the conference. Delegates issue directives that take immediate effect, meaning every decision directly shapes the next stage of the crisis.
