Council Description: The World Health Organization (WHO), established in 1948, is the United Nations agency dedicated to promoting global health and well-being. It leads international efforts to combat disease, improve health systems, and respond to public health emergencies. WHO sets evidence-based standards, provides technical guidance, and supports countries in achieving universal health coverage and tackling health challenges such as infectious diseases, non-communicable conditions, and mental health issues. Through research, partnerships, and advocacy, WHO aims to build healthier, more resilient communities and ensure that health remains a fundamental human right for all. Topic Description: Displaced and marginalized communities, including refugees, internally displaced persons, and those in extreme poverty, face critical barriers to accessing healthcare. Limited infrastructure, financial constraints, language and cultural barriers, and the instability of crisis-affected regions make it difficult to provide consistent medical care. As a global health body, WHO focuses on strengthening healthcare delivery through emergency response mechanisms, disease prevention programs, and partnerships with NGOs and local health systems. Delegates will grapple with challenges such as ensuring vaccine distribution in unstable regions, addressing malnutrition and communicable diseases in overcrowded settlements, and securing sustainable funding for long-term healthcare initiatives. Council Description: The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations that is responsible for maintaining international peace and security. The United Nation Security Council consists of 15 member states including 5 permanent members with veto rights. The members include Russia, China, France, The United Kingdom and The United States of America. And the other 10 rotating members elected by the General Assembly. The UNSC handles global security issues through diplomatic agenda to military intervention. The UNSC plays a critical role in international affairs, responding to conflicts, crises, and threats to peace to uphold the UN's primary goals of preventing conflict and promoting stability on a global scale. Topic Description: Post-conflict zones often become hotspots for transnational crime, including drug trafficking, arms smuggling, human trafficking, and illegal resource exploitation. Weakened governance, economic instability, and porous borders create fertile ground for criminal networks to thrive, undermining peacebuilding efforts and threatening regional security. This topic focuses on strategies to combat transnational crime by strengthening law enforcement, enhancing international cooperation, and building resilient institutions in fragile states. Delegates will explore innovative approaches to disrupt criminal operations, protect vulnerable populations, and promote long-term stability and security.

Press is a special council that will be present at the 2024 Indonesia MUN sessions where our delegates represent their press agencies as journalists. In their journalistic work, delegates are expected to appropriately represent the position of their respective media companies. Their involvement consists of monitoring the development of information and documenting the proceedings of the conference in their designated councils for the Indonesia MUN 2025, which will culminate in a fair report and coverage that adheres to journalistic standards.
