GNOMUN 2026

Honourable delegates,

As the secretary-general, it is my pleasure to invite all delegates interested in attending this year's inaugural GNOMUN (Global Novices Online Model United Nations) conference to apply for a spot on one of our committees this year. GNOMUN is made by students, for students and is completely free to attend conference aimed at delegates of any level of experience. 

Our goal is to provide an accessible platform for MUN, emboldening delegates by giving them a chance to practise their skills or experience a conference for the first time. It is an especially good opportunity for novices as delegates will get the chance to experience a full-length conference, seeing the standard Rules of Procedure in action and practicing public speaking skills. This conference is run in collaboration with Lavinia Tompson, our director general from Paris, France, and will be attended by students from around the world.

The event will take place online on Zoom over the weekend from the 11th-12th of April 2026. Background guides, a Rules of Procedure briefing and optional position paper submissions will be announced beforehand. Both of our committees will be single-delegate committees (meaning one person per country) and will only feature one topic each, as shown below: 

• United Nations Security Council (UNSC) - Promoting peacekeeping and peacebuilding in fragile states 
• United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) - Improving standards of living through sustainable development
