About the committee

The agenda “Discussion on Fundamental Rights and the Role of Government Organs in the Indian Constitution” focuses on understanding how the Indian constitutional system protects citizens’ rights and maintains democratic governance. In the AIPPM committee, delegates will discuss the importance of Fundamental Rights such as the Right to Equality, Freedom, Education, Religion, and Constitutional Remedies, which are guaranteed under Part III of the Indian Constitution. The committee may debate current issues related to freedom of speech, privacy, social justice, minority rights, and the balance between individual liberty and national security. The agenda also highlights the role of the three organs of government — the Legislature, Executive, and Judiciary. Delegates will examine how Parliament makes laws, how the Executive implements them, and how the Judiciary ensures constitutional supremacy through judicial review. Discussions may include landmark constitutional cases, separation of powers, checks and balances, and the responsibility of institutions in protecting democracy. Through debates, policy discussions, and resolutions, participants will analyze constitutional challenges faced by modern India and propose reforms to strengthen democratic values, accountability, and the protection of citizens’ rights within the framework of the Indian Constitution.
