Educating lives
Medicine, the world of opportunities and innovation. It took some serious guts to perform the first heart surgery, by both the surgeon and the paitent. But if it weren't for that risk, the world of cardiothoracic surgery would be incredibly different, if it even existed.

MED MUN is there because of my passion for this incredible field and the opportunity to connect with delegates with equal passion. I dream of this MUN as being a battle field, not against other delegates, but as a united front against the many diseases that challenge the livelihood of humanity. Weβve all lost someone, and if we had invented some treatment, they might potentially still be with us.
This is a different type of MUN. Delegates will be assigned a field (GAND or CSIC) and given three topics related to it. They can use fiction β as long as it stays within human possibility β to propose promising treatments (think 3d printable human hearts to overcome organ shortage). A brief introduction to each topic will be shared on the delegate groups at least 24 hours before the conference. During the event, delegates will debate in detail, laying out the pros and cons of each proposed treatment. A final βresolutionβ β essentially a collaborative medical research paper β will be passed and published on a peer-reviewed site with credit to all delegates involved. Any monetary awards, or recognition gained by this article will be distributed in the following manner: Two-thirds of it to the delegate who came with the idea, the remaining sum will be distributed to other delegates in attendance.
The MUN will be conducted over the span of a week. The awards are:
- Best Medical Innovator β for the most well-developed and compelling fictional treatment.
- Best Scientific Debate β for the delegate who presents the most balanced, well-reasoned arguments.
- Outstanding Researcher β for depth of research and understanding of real-world parallels.
Best Delegate β for overall participation, teamwork, and leadership.
*MED MUN HOLDS THE RIGHT TO DENY OR NOT ISSUE AN AWARD AT ALL IF THE DELEGATION IS NOT UP TO QUOTA
