Tomorrow’s Change Is Today’s Conversation.
Diplomacy won’t save the world, but it’s a start.
The world is unravelling faster than most admit. Systems strain, voices clash day after day, yet our priorities slip further away. Diplomacy is an instrument, not a guarantee. However, in the broad political landscape we see today, there is no guarantee without it. The world is becoming complacent, and now, more than ever, we must stand together to restore the very reason we established these systems of diplomacy. This isn’t about saving the world overnight. It’s about starting, together, to put the pieces back where they belong.
About the Conference
EIMMUN, held at the Montgomery International School, is located in The Heart of Europe near the city's European institutions, including the Council of the European Union, the European Parliament, and the European Commission. The conference is a student-led initiative, created not only to provide an immersive and entertaining experience for its participants but also to push the standards for academics in Model UN. The Ecole Internationale Montgomery MUN is a conference designed by delegates, for delegates, curated by the hosting school's Model United Nations team, which has a combined experience of over 15 Model United Nations conferences to draw from, to create the experience you want. The heart of the team is driven by the desire to push for tomorrow's change through the advocacy and action of today.
Some key things you should know:
Host Families 🏠
We organise a host family coordination for participants coming from abroad, with strict systems put in place to ensure the comfort and safety of our attendees. Our hospitality team interviews and coordinates with host family applicants, so you don't have to take any action to secure a place to stay for the event. However, space may be limited on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to chairpersons.
Guide to Brussels 🇧🇪
Whilst completely natural for us locals, Brussels can be difficult to navigate at times. To help, we've prepared a section on our website with a master guide on navigating public transport, including tourist spots, general tips for getting around, our favourite places, and more. The conference schedule is designed to leave you with a few hours to explore on the first day, allowing you to make the most of your experience in the city.
Our Main Partner 💜
Penseum is an AI-powered platform that streamlines learning from uploaded materials. At EIMMUN, Penseum is a vital tool for understanding our research, learning new concepts, and establishing a foundation for our academic resources. Penseum is dedicated to making a real difference in education, believing that every student deserves the best tools to succeed. Today, they continue to innovate and strive to transform the way students and teachers approach studying and teaching. Penseum is an excellent tool for preparing for the conference and learning more than you would through traditional research alone.
About the Experience
We believe diplomacy is a skill, and that every skill deserves the right tools to grow. At EIMMUN, we don’t leave our delegates in the dark. From the moment you receive your assignment, you’ll have access to carefully prepared background guides from our academic team, samples for all types of documents, and a wide range of delegate resources. Our Chairpersons also have access to essential tools, not only for the conference itself, but also to refine their craft and chairing style for the future. We design every committee to strike a balance between academic clarity and diplomatic challenge, whether it’s your first MUN or your tenth. EIMMUN is more than debate, too. Whether you’re strategising during an unmoderated caucus, meeting delegates over lunch, or asking staff questions in the hallway, this is a space to grow with people who care.
We also put an immense amount of care into immersion. While our resources are limited, we put everything into making sure you aren't just debating in a classroom, but in an entire space dedicated to the proceedings of the conference. Participants are treated like actual diplomats, and the environment is designed to emulate authentic diplomatic settings. Additionally, each edition of the conference has a Press Corps committee tasked with documenting sessions, interviewing delegates, and creating reports to provide a narrative alongside what would otherwise be a participatory event. In addition to everything else, our academic team works months in advance to craft background guides that are not only informative but also engaging, accessible, and layered. At EIMMUN, you can expect to enter the committee room prepared, confident, and in character.
