Where Diplomacy Meets Innovation

EFIPS Model United Nations 2027 — Where Diplomacy Meets Innovation

EFIPS Model United Nations returns for its third edition on Saturday, January 30, 2027, at Emirates Falcon International Private School in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. Bringing together students from different schools and backgrounds, EFIPS MUN offers a platform for young people to explore global challenges, exchange perspectives, and turn ideas into meaningful debate. Under the theme “Where Diplomacy Meets Innovation,” the conference encourages delegates to combine thoughtful diplomacy with creative approaches to the issues shaping our world.

At the heart of EFIPS MUN is the belief that young people should have the opportunity to understand international affairs and take an active role in discussing them. Through research, public speaking, negotiation, and collaboration, delegates learn to examine problems from perspectives beyond their own. They are challenged to represent their assigned country or position accurately, respond to opposing arguments respectfully, and work with others to develop practical resolutions. Every speech, discussion, and negotiation becomes an opportunity to build confidence and strengthen the skills needed to lead with purpose.

The third edition welcomes both newcomers discovering Model United Nations and experienced delegates seeking a challenging committee experience. For beginners, the conference offers an opportunity to step into diplomacy, learn parliamentary procedure, and develop confidence in expressing their ideas. For more experienced participants, it provides a setting to refine their arguments, lead negotiations, and contribute to detailed discussions. Across all levels, EFIPS MUN promotes preparation, respectful participation, and a willingness to learn.

Our Committees

EFIPS MUN 2027 features nine committees, offering delegates a broad range of diplomatic, social, economic, and political perspectives:

  • United Nations Security Council (UNSC): Examining questions of international peace and security, conflict prevention, and the responsibilities of states in responding to global threats.
  • United Nations General Assembly First Committee (DISEC): Exploring disarmament and international security, including the challenges of reducing threats while maintaining cooperation between nations.
  • United Nations General Assembly Second Committee (ECOFIN): Addressing economic and financial affairs, sustainable development, and the connections between global prosperity and international cooperation.
  • United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC): Discussing the protection of human rights, accountability, and the responsibilities of the international community in defending human dignity.
  • United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women): Focusing on gender equality, women’s participation in decision-making, and opportunities to remove barriers to empowerment.
  • International Labour Organization (ILO): Considering workers’ rights, fair employment, decent working conditions, and the future of work.
  • United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF): Examining children’s rights and well-being, including access to education, protection, healthcare, and opportunity.
  • United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO): Exploring cooperation in education, science, and culture, alongside the protection of heritage and the sharing of knowledge.
  • United States Senate (USS): Offering a distinct legislative simulation in which delegates represent senators, debate policy, negotiate across different positions, and work toward legislative outcomes.

Together, these committees allow participants to explore how different institutions approach complex problems. Delegates will need to balance the interests of their assigned role with the need for cooperation, recognising that successful diplomacy depends on careful research, clear communication, and the ability to find common ground.

The Secretary-General’s Vision

Under the leadership of Secretary-General Rayan Hamdi, alongside Deputy Secretary-General Manar Mahmoud, EFIPS MUN 2027 aims to create a conference where ambition is matched by preparation and every participant has the opportunity to contribute. The Secretariat’s vision is to build an organised, engaging, and welcoming experience that encourages delegates to take their responsibilities seriously while enjoying the connections and discoveries that make MUN memorable.

This vision places particular emphasis on helping students develop their own diplomatic voice. Leadership within a committee requires more than speaking frequently: it involves listening carefully, understanding the discussion, supporting arguments with evidence, and helping others move toward a shared outcome. EFIPS MUN encourages delegates to approach debate with both confidence and humility, recognising that strong ideas become stronger when they are tested through respectful discussion.

The theme “Where Diplomacy Meets Innovation” reflects this approach. Innovation begins with the willingness to question familiar approaches, consider new possibilities, and adapt ideas to the needs of a changing world. Diplomacy gives those ideas direction through dialogue, negotiation, and cooperation. By bringing these principles together, EFIPS MUN seeks to inspire participants to think creatively while remaining grounded in the realities of the issues they discuss.

A Community Connected by Purpose

Beyond committee sessions, EFIPS MUN brings students together through a shared interest in leadership and international affairs. The conference offers an opportunity to meet people from other schools, learn from different experiences, and form connections through a day of debate and collaboration. Participating schools contribute to this environment by supporting students as they prepare, represent their roles, and engage with the wider MUN community.

EFIPS MUN 2027 is free of charge, reflecting the conference’s commitment to making this experience accessible. With the support of Panworld Education, the third edition celebrates the value of education, student initiative, and opportunities that help young people grow beyond the classroom.

Whether a delegate is delivering their first speech or leading a complex negotiation, EFIPS MUN invites them to arrive prepared, remain curious, and make their contribution count. The conference is an opportunity to develop knowledge, discover confidence, and experience the responsibility that comes with representing a perspective on an international stage.

Join us on January 30, 2027, at Emirates Falcon International Private School, Al Ain, for a new chapter of EFIPS Model United Nations.
