The DSSMUN Model United Nations conference is here once again, aiming to bring together passionate delegates from across the world for three days of engaging debate, collaboration, and diplomacy in the heart of Sofia. Each year, DSSMUN challenges delegates with timely and thought-provoking topics, and this year is no exception.
In our DISEC committee, delegates will clash over issues such as ensuring regional stability and upholding the rule of law in the South China Sea, which is a critical geopolitical hotspot with far-reaching implications for global trade and security. With state-sponsored terrorism and its impact on international peace and security as an alternative topic, a heated debate on a pressing issue that continues to shape global relations and defence policies worldwide is guaranteed.
Meanwhile, our Historical Crisis Committee will simulate the 1982 Lebanon War, allowing delegates to step into the past and navigate complex, fast-paced decision-making in a highly dynamic setting. The work of this committee will be intense and controversial, as well as challenging delegates to rise above deeply entrenched division in order to broker a realistic deal.
Beyond committee work, DSSMUN also features vibrant social events, giving delegates the opportunity to connect, relax, and build lasting international friendships. We are committed to providing a high-quality and comfortable conference experience; therefore, throughout all three days, participants will be provided with food, drinks, and snacks to ensure they remain focused and energised during committee sessions. Last but not least, one of the highlights of DSSMUN is our prestigious third day, which will be hosted at the National Assembly of Bulgaria, offering delegates a unique and inspiring setting that reflects the real-world institutions they are simulating.
With each passing year, we strive to make the conference even more memorable, and we hope that DSSMUN 2026 will be no different.
Join us at DSSMUN and become part of not just a conference, but an experience that extends far beyond the conference room.
