The Safety and Security of Women in the Tourism Industry

    About the committee

Tourism offers freedom, cultural exchange, and economic growth—but for women, it can also bring vulnerability. Female travelers often face harassment, discrimination, and safety concerns. At the same time, women working within the tourism sector—whether as guides, hospitality staff, or entrepreneurs—may experience unsafe working conditions, unequal pay, and limited legal protections. This committee will explore how governments, international bodies, and the tourism industry can work together to ensure safer travel and work environments for women. Delegates will be challenged to develop practical, inclusive solutions that protect and empower women across all areas of tourism.
