    Topic

Coordinating global response to the spread of drug-resistant tuberculosis

    About the committee

Drug-resistant tuberculosis remains a major global health challenge because of its rapid transmission, limited treatment accessibility, and resistance to standard medications. The 2018 United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting on Tuberculosis marked a significant step toward addressing this crisis. Moving forward, the global community must strengthen diagnostics, infection control, and equitable access to treatment, while ensuring sustainable financing. Coordinated international action is essential to halt the spread of drug-resistant tuberculosis.
