Vancouver's Preeminent Model UN Conference—over one thousand participants from all corners of the globe, connecting youth with CAHSMUN, the United Nations, and each other.
Canadian High Schools Model United Nations (CAHSMUN) is a non-profit, three-day, high school Model United Nations conference, held annually in Vancouver, BC. For over two decades, CAHSMUN has shaped Model UN in Western Canada, welcoming students from around the world and developing future leaders through diplomacy, public speaking, and critical thinking.
CAHSMUN is an extraordinary opportunity for students to debate political, social, and economic issues in an environment unlike any other. CAHSMUN delegates participate in one of 22 committee simulations ranging from the Disarmament and International Security Committee, to Starbucks Corporation, to the International Press Corps. Throughout the conference, delegates will assume the role of United Nations representatives or as members of either international or regional cabinets through adopting the foreign policies of their respective assignments.
At CAHSMUN, delegates will learn how to apply their diplomatic skills in a tense environment, while preserving the interests of the assignment that they represent. Through debating various world issues, delegates will understand the complex relationships between numerous states, broaden their perspectives on an international platform, and develop comprehensive solutions to global issues that world leaders face today. The lively and stimulating debates presented at CAHSMUN will supplement the personal growth of all delegates, and prepare them for their future as global citizens.
