About

Sustainable Environment. Sustainable Growth. Sustainable Development.

Forget boring data sheets—sustainability is going sci-fi, pop-culture, and ancient all at once.

Welcome to a wild look at environmental action where K-pop fandoms, video game recycling, and space-age de-extinction are rewriting the future of our planet.

Let us introduce to you… ALETMUN ECOGEN 2027 ! Where we will be exploring several fun aspects of sustaining our environment.

BEGINNERS, NEW COMERS, EXPERIENCED DELS ALL ARE WELCOMED !!

UNEP (UN Environment Programme) TOPICS:

  • Explore the ecological, legal, and ethical impacts of using biotechnology to restore lost species to modern ecosystems. (Eg., the Woolly Mammoth or Dodo bird)
  • Environmental footprints of getting rare Earth elements from the bottom of our oceans vs. from space (eg., asteroids)

UNFCCC (UN Framework Convention of Climate Change) TOPICS:.

  • Exploring the massive energy demands of AI models, cryptocurrency mining, and the metaverse, and creating policies for a "Green Internet."
  • Can science fiction novels, movies, and cli-fi video games influence international climate negotiations and public policy faster than scientific reports?
  • Addressing the psychological impacts of a changing climate on youth, and how mental health resilience should be factored into global climate adaptation funds.

UNESCAP (UN Economics and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific) TOPICS:

  • How reviving ancient Asian-Pacific infrastructure—like the stepwells of India, water towns of China, or traditional stilt houses—can build flood-resilient, sustainable modern mega-cities.
  • Designing self-sustaining, floating modular communities for climate refugees from sinking low-lying island nations like Tuvalu or Kiribati.
  • Scaling up the use of structural bamboo for low-cost, ultra-sustainable public transport infrastructure and electric vehicle chassis across Southeast Asia.

AWARDS WE HAVE TO OFFER FOR EACH COUNCIL:

  • Best Delegate x1
  • Most Outstanding Delegate x2 max
  • Honourable Mentions x3 max
  • Best Position Paper
  • Best Research conducted x2 max
  • Best Chair x1
  • Most Outstanding Chair x2
  • Best Committee (Overall vote)

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE ! (And remember… have fun ! Don't stress, enjoy the process :PP)

Best Regards, THE ALET INITIATIVE.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOUR COMMITTEE DOESN'T REACH AT LEAST 10 DELEGATES, IT WILL NOT BE CONTINUED.

    About the committee

Think of the UNFCCC as the high-stakes, ticking-clock thriller of global diplomacy. It is the ultimate arena where nearly every country on Earth gathers to haggle, negotiate, and sign massive deals like the Paris Agreement to stop the planet from overheating. This council deals with the heavy hitters: slicing carbon footprints, funding green tech, and holding nations accountable to make sure we don't cook our own future.

    About the committee

The UNEP Council is basically Earth’s ultimate eco-justice league! It is where world leaders and environmental champions clash and collaborate to tackle the planet's biggest villains: climate change, biodiversity loss, and runaway pollution. Think of it as the ultimate global war room where cutting-edge science meets high-stakes diplomacy to rewrite the rules of how we live, protect wild habitats, and fast-track the green economy before the clock runs out.

    About the committee

UNESCAP is the powerhouse laboratory focused on the world's most dynamic, populous, and climate-vulnerable region: the Asia-Pacific. Imagine a massive think-tank where tech-forward mega-cities, ancient cultural wisdom, and low-lying island nations team up to fight poverty and eco-disaster simultaneously. It’s all about hyper-local, creative solutions—from building floating cities to using K-pop fandoms for activism—ensuring that the region's booming economic rise doesn't cost us the Earth.
