IEMUN II 2024

Welcome to the International European Model United Nations II 2024 Conference!

We are a online Model UN conference that aims to bring together young leaders and bright minds from all around the world to engage in meaningful discussions and complex negotiations on global issues. We are a non-profit organisation, the set participation fee is to ensure commitment and ensure the functioning of the organisation.

IEMUN is the main organisation which hosts the main conferences, which has its branches and affiliated conferences. Interested delegates may join the Secretariat to assist with the organisation of conferences (more details at the end). Please follow our official Instagram page: iemun.official

Please note that we are highly selective, and will only be accepting committed (whether experienced or not) delegates and chairs, which should be shown through the application with the motivational letter. Any withdrawal must be informed at least one week before the conference.

IEMUN 2024 features two committees, in which delegates from all over the world have the opportunity to tackle numerous issues and propose innovative solutions, all whilst developing diplomatic skills:

• United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC):
  • Topic: Eradicating Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.
    • Developing comprehensive global measures to eliminate human trafficking and modern slavery, focusing on prevention, victim rehabilitation, and international cooperation.
  • Topic: Balancing Digital Privacy with Freedom of Expression.
    • Exploring the impact of digital surveillance and censorship on privacy rights and free speech, while considering national security concerns.
• United Nations Security Council (UNSC):
  • Topic: Geopolitical Tensions in the South China Sea.
    • Addressing the growing geopolitical conflicts in the South China Sea, exploring diplomatic and security measures to ensure peace and stability in the region.
  • Topic: The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.
    • Investigating solutions to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, focusing on achieving a sustainable two-state solution, security concerns, and the protection of human rights.

Due to time restrictions, only one topic per committee will be entertained, the topic will be decided via voting while setting the agenda during the start of the conference. 

All committees offer awards with certificates for:

• Best Delegate x1
• Honorable Mention x1
• Best Position Paper x1

Participation certificates will be awarded to all observers, delegates, and chairs that have participated in the conference fully.

Position Papers are mandatory, please submit them before the conference. Please note that the Position Paper is a requirement for consideration of awards.

• Times New Roman
• Size 12
• 1,5 spacing
• Justified text
• Bibliography cited in APA7 format, or any commonly used format
• 1 page (not including bibliography, which may be on the second page)

For those extremely enthusiastic MUN participants, the Secretariat is currently welcoming new members to assist with organisational issues, as we are constantly expanding, if you want to join us, please send me a motivational letter. The format must be the same as the position papers, except the bibliography and extension, which shall not exceed two.
