  • What is DMUN Model EU?
    A high-level, realistic simulation of the European Union’s institutional decision-making processes, hosted by the DMUN Foundation. The conference brings together young leaders to explore EU policymaking, diplomacy, and multilateral negotiation.
     
  • Conference Dates:
    May 31 - June 1, 2025
     
  • What is Being Simulated?
    Delegates will represent EU Member States and institutions in the following four major EU bodies:
    • European Council
      • Simulating Heads of State or Government of the EU member states.
      • Focuses on setting the EU’s political direction and resolving key strategic issues.
    • Council of the European Union (Council of Ministers)
      • Simulating national ministers across various policy areas.
      • Focuses on adopting legislation and coordinating EU policies.
    • European Commission
      • Simulating Commissioners who propose legislation, enforce EU laws, and manage the Union’s budget and policies.
      • Delegates develop proposals and act as the EU’s executive body.
    • European Parliament
      • Simulating Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) from across political groups.
      • Debates, amends, and votes on legislation alongside the Council.
         
  • Conference Highlights:
    • Real-time legislative simulations involving inter-institutional negotiation (trilogues, co-decision process).
    • In-depth discussions on major EU policy issues: climate action, digital regulation, enlargement, migration, economy, and more.
    • Practical exposure to EU lawmaking procedures, political bargaining, and institutional dynamics.
