βZygmunt Model United Nations was founded in 2018 by a small group of dedicated students at the American School of Warsaw. The main objective of our conference is to simulate the United Nations in a way that will allow students of all backgrounds and nations to discuss and think critically while raising awareness about imminent world issues. ZYGMUN aims to create opportunities for students to hone their debating skills in a friendly and inviting environment. We strive to provide every βsingle delegate, experienced and new alike, with the opportunity to experience the world of international politics. We pride ourselves in being a very international conference despite our relatively small size, consisting of the most open-minded, hard-working, and dedicated students from around the world. Past ZYGMUN conferences have attracted delegates and student officers from Poland, Norway, Greece, Belarus, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia, Spain, Ireland, UK, Portugal, Albania, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, South Africa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands.
After hosting our third session of ZYGMUN online due to the COVID-19 situation, we are planning for our fourth session to be hosted in person at the American School of Warsaw. However, as one of the first international MUN conferences to successfully shift to an online platform in 2020, we will be fully prepared to do so again in the event that this is not possible.
