UkraineMUN is not only in Ukraine!
Briefly about the main points. UkraineMUN is a conference in the MUN (Model of United Nations) format. The main event will take place in Kyiv on October 19 and 20, 2024, however there is a part of conference that will be held in Kraków. The target audience is students of all bachelor's degree courses and high school students. During the UkraineMUN: Kraków, the work of UN Security Council (historical crisis) will be simulated, on topic of Emergency meeting 23-24.02.2022 on the escalation of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. While further explaining, the Historical Crisis Security Council is a committee, which recreates the work of the UN Security Council in specific historical circumstances and in the same time replicates the work of the UN Security Council in situations of sudden security crises, and the committee receives crisis news during the meeting.
Organisation. UkraineMUN is organized by the NGO Prosvita in partnership with the NMUN Club of the Kyiv Mohyla Academy and the Foreign Policy Council "Ukrainian Prism". The UkraineMUN: Kraków is led by Secretary General Yevhen Kostohryzov, First Deputy Secretary General Oleksandra Aleksandrova and Deputy Secretary General on international cooperation Artemii Boborykin. Preparation and activities. Participation in UkraineMUN is not only about participating in the simulated committee meetings on October 19-20, but also about several weeks of preparation: during these weeks, committee chairs, experts, and other members of the conference secretariat will familiarize all participants with the rules of procedure (rules of conducting meetings) and help with thematic preparation. The event will also feature lectures by experts in the field of politics and international relations for all participants in between sessions.
Chair and Co-chair.
The Chair of the UN Security Council (historical crisis) meeting will be Artemii Boborykin. He is a 1st year student of International Relations at the Jagiellonian University. He has an outstanding experience of more than 30 models of various political organisations, about half of which were organised by him. He coordinates CHEMUN and conducts volunteer activities as part of the development of the model movement in Ukraine.
The Co-chair of the UN Security Council (historical crisis) meeting will be Sofia Zakrasnyanska. She is a student of ESTRI University (Lyon, France), pursuing a double major in International Relations and Foreign Languages (English, German, French). She has more than 25 different Model United Nations experiences: from the first models in the 6th grade to the international level (GIMUN, Best Diplomats, etc.) She has acted as a Chair, Co-chair and organiser many times (ex-coordinator of the all-Ukrainian project on diplomacy "Details about Global" from Foundation of Regional Initiatives) and has received numerous awards for her modeling successes.
