UDEMUN 2023

We're back once again for UDEMUN 2023 “Debate the Change” and what better time to enroll than now!!!

Dear Delegates, Advisors, and Observers,

On behalf of Prepa UDEM, I am thrilled to welcome you to UDEMUN 2023, “Debate the Change”. My name is David Olloqui and it is my privilege to serve as Secretary General of this year’s installment.

Today, our world faces unprecedented challenges in all aspects of life. The after-effects of the COVID-19 pandemic has pushed individuals into unheard miseries and troubles. Some countries struggle to adapt to current economic conditions and an unprecedented war has challenged the standards of peace as we know them. Now more than ever, the importance of powerful mutual cooperation between countries is a necessity if we wish to achieve significant progress in a global context.

Consequently, every year, the Secretariat strives to create a bigger and better international event which aims to provide a powerful platform of discussion to leaders from all kinds of backgrounds and perspectives. 

With this event being our first in-person conference in three years, an obligation to re-imagine the way in which Model UN materializes itself has brought us to create a hybrid simulation; one that employs the international potential of virtuality while maintaining the foundations of traditional in-person debate. Innovation, we recognize, is key to creating a simulation that is up to par for today’s scenery of conflicts.

Once inside their respective committees, delegates will participate in fruitful and thought-provoking debate during all sessions. Integrity, communication, teamwork, leadership, creativity, and peace-making will be practiced and reinforced throughout and in parallel with the humanistic values that our institution is renowned for.

Having this said, my message to all delegates is the following: let this be not just another MUN, but an opportunity to lay the foundation for your future plans in changing the world, whether it be locally, nationally, or internationally. You will have unrestrained and abundant opportunities to express your ideas and make a true difference.
