Resolving Repercussions of Global Conflicts
Esteemed Delegates & MUN Advisors,
It is with great honour to invite you to the second session of the Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School Model United Nations (QEGS-MUN) Conference, which will take place from Friday October 13th to Saturday October 14th, 2023 at the premises of Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School Faversham, Kent.
Last year was genuinely enjoyable to see so many delegates from many backgrounds engage in meaningful discussion in an effort to come up with workable answers. Whether it’s your first QEGS-MUN or you’ve attended before, we look forward to greeting a diverse and enthusiastic group of delegates and their teachers this year. The QEGS-MUN reaffirms its dedication to providing delegates and student officers with a unique and memorable conference and to upholding a high standard of fruitful discussion while seeking workable solutions to pressing issues facing the real world.
As described by our Deputy President of the GA: this year our focus is on “Resolving repercussions of global conflicts”, with the title itself hinting at a reflective perspective on global events. This would be a core aspect to the prospective conference’s theme, with the ‘repercussions’ element allowing delegates to reflect on the impact of significant global events such as the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, and on the Ukrainian refugee crisis in Moldova, and also to review long-standing operations such as the peacekeeping operation in India and Pakistan. Resolving these widespread after-effects of cross-border tensions serves to better facilitate all aspects of them, such as understanding the deep-rooted initial reasons behind the conflict. Finally, along with this, we hope that delegates find an opportunity to broaden their knowledge on the complicated politics of ruptures in relations and understand the scale of this large mountain of repercussions; on which the conflict itself is only the icy peak.
The Provisional Agenda is finalised and is available on our website for your kind references. Feel free to visit our new website for further updates, as well as general information concerning the conference at www.qegsmun.uk. Information on fees will be also available in the due future.
