Dear Advisors,

Invitation to the Platon School MUN 2023

We are writing to cordially invite you to the twelfth session of the Platon School Model United Nations (PS-MUN) Conference, which is to be held between Friday, March 3rd to Sunday, March 5th, 2023 at the premises of Platon School in Athens, Greece.  The theme of this year’s conference will be β€œPacifism and Injustice”. Even though the COVID-19 pandemic brought many people closer, it also highlighted some fundamental divisions between communities. We are now tasked with finding a way to reconcile our differences and shape peace together in a way that is respectful and just to all.

Over the last 11 years, it has been an honest pleasure to watch so many delegates from different backgrounds engage in fruitful debate while trying to find feasible solutions. This year, we look forward to, once again, welcome a diverse and passionate group of delegates and their advisors, whether this will be your first PSMUN or you have been participating for many years.

Registration

School Registration (Form I) will be open as of Friday, July 1st, 2022, and the deadline has been set for Friday, December 23rd, 2022.

Structure of the conference

The Provisional Agenda will be finalised in the next few weeks and available on our website for your kind references. This year, we have also made some changes to the Committees. The Committees offered in this year’s session will be:

If you have less than 6 delegates but still wish to participate, please get in contact with the Organising Team so that we can assign you a delegation accordingly. Delegates in any other specialised committees will be additional to these six. You are encouraged to first fill one delegation and then request for a second one.

As noted, the Youth Assembly will have two Sub-commissions, each with its own topics. The Sub-Commission allocations will be age-oriented. The minimum age for participation in the Youth Assembly only is 11 years old and there is no maximum.

Please note that we also accept individual delegates.

Hereby attached is a Resolutions booklet from our last conference, which has been compiled with the guidance of the PS-MUN Secretariat and includes some of the best resolutions debated in the 11th PS-MUN Conference in March, 2022.  This booklet may be used as a useful reference for delegates to prepare for future MUN conferences.
