Established in London, Connecting the World.
The London International Model United Nations (LIMUN) University Conference is back for 2022! The 23rd edition of LIMUN will take place in London between 25-27 (Friday to Sunday) February 2022. Attracting chairs, ambassadors, and delegates from all over the globe, LIMUN acts as a platform to promote cosmopolitan democracy and multilateralism. In 2021, for the first time in its history, LIMUN could not hold the usual in-person conference known for its historic venues and engaging experience. LIMUN 2021 was successfully held in the online environment - a huge feat in itself. It provided Delegates and Chairs with one of the most immersive and global experiences of a pandemic-ridden academic year. With a new normal now in place, , LIMUN 2022 hopes to transfer its online momentum back to the physical setting and provide participants with the London conference experience we have grown to admire.
In accordance with the current dynamics of global affairs and international public policy, LIMUN 2022’s theme will be "Future-proofing Today for a Resilient Tomorrow". LIMUN's main focus is to bring awareness to the issues and hardships we are facing in our world today. The idea of Future-proofing has long been present in international discourse and is needed now more than ever, especially following the events of 2020 and 2021 that showed us how unprepared we are to deal with ever-present risks. Moving forward, and through collective action, we must address these risks and reimagine global institutions to confront contemporary challenges in a way that not only protects us today, but also guides future generations to adapt to the everchanging international geopolitical environment.
We have a limited number of online committees for those who are unable to make it to London due to factors outside their control. Applications for online committees must be submitted by the following form, and will not be entertained on MyMUN: https://forms.gle/P5vs7usZhCFoaD966The LIMUN University Conference is organised by the LIMUN Foundation, a charitable organisation (UK Charity Number: 1159324), that promotes cultural empathy, an understanding of international affairs, and awareness of the United Nations among young people. Besides the University Conference, the Foundation also organises LIMUN:High School, a conference geared towards high school students. The LIMUN Foundation is overseen by its Honorary President, Lord Mark Malloch Brown, former United Nations Deputy Secretary-General to Kofi Annan, in addition to an experienced Board of Trustees made up of many previous Secretariat members of previous editions of the conference. We are accredited by the United Nations Department of Global Communications and have recently partnered with the UN75 campaign to commemorate the United Nation's 75th anniversary.
