IMT-NMUN 2015

IMT- Nagpur in collaboration with the UN Information Centre for India and Bhutan successfully conducted the Model United Nations from 27th to 28th September where participants from all over India poured in to participate in this prestigious event that very few institutions are able to host. The event started with the Secretary General banging the customary gavel in the opening ceremony and some very hard hitting questions being asked by the (Officiating) Director Dr. Ranjit Goswami like, “Is change really happening?”, “Does the UN need to change too with time?” This set the pace for the next two days to come wherein five committees namely, The Futuristic General assembly , The United Nations Global Compact, The United Nations Security Council, The FIFA Congress and The Indian Cabinet collectively consisting of over 180 delegates under the expert supervision of the Executive Board discussed various issues of sensitive nature. The Agendas discussed were ‘Situation in the South Caucasus Region in the year 2032’, ‘Anti-Corruption, Labour Laws and Sustainability in Supply Chain ‘, ‘Reforms in the UN Security Council’, ‘Decision Review system, player Loyalty, 2030 World Cup in FIFA’, ‘Combating Naxalism- The Way Ahead’.
