The Board of Directors at the Harvard Association Cultivating Inter-American Democracy (HACIA) is honored to invite you to the 30th Summit of the Americas, to be held in Brazil from March 15th to March 19th, 2025.
HACIA Democracy is an undergraduate student organization at Harvard University committed to fostering leadership and advancing democracy in Latin America through our annual summit, the Summit of the Americas. The Summit is an international debate conference for high school students from across Latin America. This edition celebrates 30 years of changing the way that young leaders think about and interact with Latin American democracy, featuring debates in Portuguese, Spanish, and English on crucial topics such as climate change, human rights, and gender violence. Check out a complete list of committees offered at the Summit of the Americas at https://www.haciademocracy.org/committees.
HACIA Democracy offers a unique opportunity for high school students to connect with a large group of Harvard students from diverse nationalities and with hundreds of other highly motivated delegates from across Latin America. The conference includes 8 debate sessions, an intercultural fair, an iconic talent show, a delegate dance, social entrepreneurship workshops, and panels on higher education and applying to universities in the United States. Over 8,000 students have participated in HACIA over the past three decades. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators in Latin America and beyond, fostering a commitment to meaningful advocacy and intercultural understanding.
