Youth Empowered Society (YES) is a non-governmental, non-political, independent and non-profit, civil society organization. This organization was established by a number of like-minded, bright and committed Afghan youths, who believe in the need for development of Afghanistan.

YES, with a vision for a developed and welfare society for Afghan Youth, and a mission of empowering Afghan youth and children and women to combat against poverty, social injustice and illiteracy, was established in March 2017 and it has been registered with the Ministry of Justice, Afghanistan.

On April 2019, Youth Empowered Society (YES) is planning to hold its annual Model United Nations program for Afghan youths. This year we are on track to host over 400 delegates from all over the country. This unparalleled learning opportunity brings together students from across private and public school students and universities to collaboratively tackle the world's most critical issues.

What began in 2017 with 300 participants, has since grown into one of the largest students/youth-run conferences in the country. At Balkh Model United Nations 2019 program students experience the inner workings of international policy-making as they tackle global issues and controversies, draft resolutions, navigate crisis scenarios, debate and ultimately vote representing their nations on global solutions. In the process, students become global thinkers, confident speakers, and peer leaders. Through Balkh Model United Nations 2019, students gain the skills needed to navigate and thrive in our globally-connected world.
