United through Diversity
Next year, delegates at AMUNC will be challenged with dynamic debate topics that concern issues spanning the entire UN system and international community in over twenty committees including the press corps, regional organisations, high-level meetings, an interactive crisis committee, and the Panel of Experts and Ambassadors Program inaugurated last year.
The Asia-Pacific Model United Nations Conference is the largest annual conference in the region, bringing together over 700 students from across the Asia Pacific to participate in a simulation of the international political landscape where delegates take on the roles of diplomats, ambassadors, judges, journalists, NGO agents, and renowned experts.
These delegates will meet in organisations that span the globe – committees in the UN system, Bretton Woods institutions, international courts, news rooms, and national cabinets – and work together to find solutions to international challenges, acquire new knowledge and skills, and build relationships that cross the borders of background, culture, and nationality.
This year will be AMUNC's 21st birthday and will see the conference held in Perth, Western Australia for the first time. The conference will continue the momentum generated by previous AMUNC conferences, including extravagant social events, engaging speaker sessions, and memorable opening and closing ceremonies.
AMUNC is run entirely by students, for students and is all about meeting new people from new countries and cultures. With a massive social itinerary including committee dinners, a cocktail evening, a club night, and a black tie Final Gala, all delegates will get the chance to meet passionate and enthusiastic students from across the region.
The conference will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from the June 29th to July 4th, 2015 and our talented Secretariat and dedicated Host Team have been working to guarantee AMUNC 2015 is the most creative, innovative, and exciting AMUNC yet!
