Since nearly 75 years, the United Nations has led global efforts to achieve peace, dignity and equality on a healthy planet. As the youth of today and the adults of tomorrow, our generation cannot help but admire the actions of an international organization of such magnitude. It is therefore natural for us to see ourselves, to imagine ourselves participating in the discussions and debates taking place at the top of international meetings on geopolitical and economic issues that are decisive for the future of humanity. It was then that students graduating from the Lycée Français International André Malraux in Rabat, inspired by the grandiosity of the UN debates, came together and, embodying members of the secretariat and the presidency of the General Assembly, created the AMMUN, the André Malraux Model United Nations, whose first edition took place in 2019.
For each of the delegations, their objective is to propose resolutions, to debate them, and to vote with their allied countries, in order to find various solutions to the problems proposed by the presidency. With committee sessions where debates are held, lobbying phases, and General Assemblies, it is a real large-scale role-playing game, as all high school students find themselves in the shoes of a UN diplomat. Since the first edition of this event, the AMMUN has become a tradition within the establishment, with each year, a presidency which is renewed, to take up the torch of past generations...
