Shaping a Resilient World: Empowering Youth for Sustainable Development

Letter from the Secretary-General

Dear Delegates, Esteemed Faculty Advisors, and Honored Guests,

It is my absolute privilege to welcome you all to ACMUN 2025. This conference is more than just an opportunity to debate global affairs—it is a platform for collaboration, innovation, and leadership. Every delegate, speech, and resolution has the potential to shape perspectives and inspire action.

Model United Nations has always been a place where young minds come together to challenge ideas, negotiate solutions, and engage in diplomacy. But beyond debate, MUN is about learning to listen, lead, and think beyond our perspectives. It is about stepping into the shoes of world leaders and understanding that every decision has consequences, and every voice has power.

In today’s rapidly evolving world, we face many complex challenges—climate change, global inequality, economic instability, technological advancements, and public health crises. These issues transcend borders and require collaborative, forward-thinking solutions. As the next generation of leaders, we are responsible for thinking critically about these problems and working towards building a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future. This year, under the theme “Shaping a Resilient World: Empowering Youth for Sustainable Development,” we aim to encourage each of you to step up, take initiative, and explore how we can innovate, act, and sustain progress in an increasingly complex world.

Model United Nations is about more than just debate—it is about learning to listen, understand, and lead. It is about engaging with different perspectives, thinking critically about global governance, and discovering the power of diplomacy. Whether this is your first conference or one of many, I encourage you to embrace the experience, challenge yourself, and approach every discussion with an open mind. The skills you develop here—negotiation, collaboration, and problem-solving—will stay with you long after the conference ends.

As we come together for ACMUN 2025, remember that your voice matters. The discussions here reflect the very real conversations happening on the world stage. Your ideas, your diplomacy, and your vision for the future have the potential to inspire real change.

This conference is an opportunity to engage in meaningful discourse and grow as individuals, diplomats, and global citizens. I hope ACMUN 2025 challenges, inspires, and empowers you. I can't wait to witness the energy, passion, and innovation you will bring to every committee.

See you all at the conference.
