Controlling illegal weapon smuggling, especially in crisis zone and focusing on avoiding criminal organizations to obtain weapons

The Ukraine understands the trade of weapons as a deal to receive and gain peace in conflicts zones and around the world. Therefore, the delegation of Ukraine supports legal, safe and responsible weapons trade to stop terrorism and illegal occupation of territories and welcomes the international efforts concerning export controls, stockpile management and international cooperation. The programmes of the UN have been recommended by the Ukraine, for instance by taking part in Programme of Action on Small Arms and Light Weapons (Poa) and the Wassenaar Arrangement.
