It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.'-Albert Einstein Violence against women is a pandemic affecting ALL countries, even those that have made laudable progress in other areas. Worldwide women experience either physical, psychological or sexual intimate partner or non partner violence. The UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, defines the discrimination against women as any “distinction, exclusion or restriction made on the basis of sex…on the basis of equality between men and women.” This Convention says that all states parties must condemn discrimination against women in all forms, and must work towards the equality of genders.
