Brussels, 23rd April 2017 Mr Chairman,
First of all, I would like to renew Romania’s continued support for more cooperation across the EU when it comes to dealing with the migrant crisis, we have been facing since 2014 (http://www.un.org/pga/70/wp-content/uploads/sites/10/2015/08/21-Apr_Refugees-and-Migrants-21-April-2016.pdf; http://www.europarl.europa.eu/RegData/etudes/BRIE/2016/568996/IPOL_BRI(2016)568996_EN.pdf ; http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34131911) . As State party to United Nations, 1951 Geneva conventions on refugees, Statelessness and the European Union, Romania is committed to fulfil its shared responsibility to migration management, as it has previously done in the past through implementing legislations that enable internationally protected person to integrate into Romanian social life, and put in line with the Schengen acquis (http://www.refworld.org/pdfid/4ffd349f2.pdf )
Mr Chairman, I would like now to outline some of the issues and remarks my country is having with the drafted proposal by the EU Commission ( Parliament of Romania, Chamber of Deputies, N°99, Bucharest, October 4th 2016).
