Abortion has always been a controversial question, as it interferes with religion, ethical questions as well as health. Legislation of the Socialistic Republic of Vietnam covers this issue by the 1989's Law on Protection of People's Health, which allows the choice of using contraceptive as well as the possibility of abortion until up to 22 weeks of pregnancy.
