Territorial Disputes in the Persian Gulf – Position paper of the United States of America

The Middle East and especially the area around the Gulf of Persia has traditionally been an area, which was crucial for US American interests. The geographical position, the important shipping routes through the Gulf of Persia and the Suez Canal as well as the immense natural resources underline the Middle East’s position as a geopolitical hotspot.
