Aware of the lack of a common definition of ‘privacy,’ we believe that such concept is today more than ever related to the new challenges posed by the digital era. Technology and globalization, on the one hand, have strongly empowered the voice of the civil society, yet, on the other hand, have enormously enlarged the threats and the means to challenge national and international security.
