There are about 1.1 million Rohingya people living in Myanmar. They are a stateless muslim group, mainly populating the Rakhine State of Myanmar. The Myanmar government does not recognize the Rohingya people as their citizens. They are being systematically discriminated against, killed, denied citizenship and experienced other restrictions over the past decades. Many Rohingya people have fled the country and looked for refuge in neighboring countries such as Bangladesh. However, they are being rejected everywhere they go.
France would like to express their deep concern over this issue. Under International Human Rights, peoples have the right to self-determination. Minorities have the right to maintain their culture, religion and the right to use their language among other rights. It is the State of Myanmar, as primary duty...
