Honourable chairs, fellow delegates, it is neither a secret nor a new development that the matter of trafficking in persons remains one of the most prevalent instances of gross human rights violations that exists on a global scale today. This deeply cruel practice is a brazen attack on the very institution of human sovereignty everywhere and as such requires a coordinated and concerted international effort. What is perhaps even more sinister than this is the very fact that the mandate of trafficking groups specifically hones in on and exploits those regions of the world that are already the most vulnerable, with asylum-seekers and refugees forming the bulk of the demograph...
