Every month more and more people, including children, flee their countries of birth hoping to receive asylum in other countries. In the process, a lot of children are deprived of their rights, especially those who are alone without at least one parent with them. Other children accompany their parents who hope to find work in other countries and often end up working side by side with them in poor working conditions and little protection from exploitation. Typically, migrant children living in these conditions do not attend school, have no access to medical attention and can expect little protection of their human rights.

Lebanon is suffering a crisis because of the many refugees that are receiving asylum in the country, especially from Syria. As of 2015, the population of Lebanon is about 6 million people which includes more than 1.3 million Syrian refugees. Receiving that amount of migrants in a short time is interfering with the internal social balance of Lebanon, as well as problems in other sectors like the economy and the public finance, health, the education, safety, the labor market, traffic, and the infrastructure systems.
