Human trafficking in El Salvador has been a major concern to local citizens, government, and International communities. The situation in El Salvador is very different; El Salvador detects more human trafficking activities than any other country in Central America. From 2005-2010, 79% of the victims were from El Salvador. In addition, to this fact majority of foreign victims who migrate to El Salvador seeking employment, are subsequently forced into prostitution , domestic services are all from neighboring countries such as Guatemala and Nicaragua. Salvadorans have been subjected to sex trafficking and forced labor in countries such as Mexico, Belize and the United States.
