Social Development in modern Egypt has been an extended journey dealing with issues of inequity, discrimination, social justice, poverty and social and economic polarization. Social Development within a society prioritizes the needs of the citizens in the society’s growth and progression whilst prescribing standards and protocols concerning human interaction. The Copenhagen Declaration of 1995 started by the UN, prompted attempts to overcome the existing issues regarding exclusion in society, highlighting the need for greater inclusion within the society, promotion of productivity and eradication of poverty. Egypt resolved that the most pressing social issues are rooted, but not limited to gender inequality and lack of female empowerment.
