Committee: General Assembly Topic: Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons Country: The Dominion of Canada Delegates: Wenkai Calvin Since the first significant milestone in UN’s fight against illicit trade of SALW came in 2000, eliminating the conflict violence, post-conflict violence and non-conflict violence had become the main goals of the General Assembly. During its long fight against the illicit trade in SALW, the multi-faceted and greatly complicated issue has troubled the united nation for long. Moreover, the threat of SALW remains highly violent during and after the conflict that reflects a 20-25 per cent risk of sliding back to conflict within the next five years.  The Dominion of Canada strongly condemn the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in all aspects.
