For decades, the widespread use of anti-personnel landmines continues to be a serious problem of political, economic, environmental and humanitarian dimension. On estimation, there have been 110 million active land mines in over 70 countries. With these landmines on the ground, it has caused the lives of approximately 4000 people every year including children.
